    Review the rules of the road and learn new information regarding today’s cars, and update your driving skills. Those over the age of 55 qualify to receive a 10 percent discount on their auto insurance after completing the 8-hour basic course. To maintain this discount, a 4-hour refresher course is required every three years. In-person sessions will be held in two rooms, with the instructor live in one room and viewing the instructor/presentation on a large screen in the second room.     Get creative while turning random pieces of fabric and ribbon into decorative flowers that can be displayed or worn on your favorite hat, jacket or outfit. Have fun as you cut, hand-sew, or glue together various colors and patterns uniquely you. Finish by embellishing your flowers with specific buttons and bobbles! $5 supply fee payable to the instructor in class.   • Fall Migration Walk

    It might still be summer to us, but to birds, fall migration is already underway. With plenty of bugs still around to feed these birds on their journeys south, we'll hope for an active morning with a good mix of breading species and migrants (many of which will look different now than they did in the spring)! Cost of the class is $15/adult; youth age 12 and up are welcome with an adult for $20. Any additional youth will be $5 each. Dress for the weather as class will be held outside at Maplewood Nature Center.

    This class will provide participants with the fundamentals of fantasy football. If you are new to fantasy football, this is the class for you! Participants will learn how to draft players (there will be a mock 4 round draft0, understand important terms and abbreviations needed to succeed in fantasy football, be provided tools (websites) that make it fun and easy to compete week to week, and how to begin a league.   • Field Trip: Experience Broadcasting: The Jason Show & Pavek Broadcast Museum

    Spend the morning at FOX 9 KMSP Broadcast Center in Eden Prairie to be a part of the live studio Audience of The Jason Show. After the show, we will have lunch at Scoreboard in Minnetonka with their special of the day. After lunch, we visit the Pavek Museum with over 12,000 square feet of antique radios, televisions, and broadcast equipment on display. Learn how pioneers in electronic communication created enormous impacts on the evolution of our society. We will have a brief welcome and then a self-guided experience. NOTES: The studio requests we wear solid, bright colors photograph best. The studio is usually kept at a cooler temperature so please bring a sweater or dress in layers.     Join us in visiting the Midtown Global Market in Minneapolis! The market is home to over 50 vendors including specialty produce and grocery items, and locally made jewelry and crafts. It also has a wide array of restaurants featuring gluten free, vegetarian, vegan, and kid-friendly options. We will start our morning with a guided historical tour of the market, then we will explore, shop, and eat on our own. Bus departs from Mahtomedi District Center 1520 Mahtomedi Ave, Mahtomedi, MN 55115 at 9:15 a.m. and returns at approximately 2:00 p.m.
